About Benesek

‘No-one talks about the weather anymore’ is a collaborative work of call and response between artist, environment and neural network. It is a book, part psychogeographic journal, part micro fiction anthology, that was produced over the course of a calendrical year with the intent to blur the line between human and non-human production, and to interrogate notions of authorship, creativity and control in the process.

Blending the mythopoeic with technological artifice, it disrupts the conventional narrative of seasonal progression, illustrates the limitations of the photograph as axiomatic document and demonstrates the anthropocentric fallacy of creativity being a uniquely human trait; casting doubt upon the supposition that there will always be a role for artists, or that humans are unassailably relevant to the production of culture.
