About Katy
‘Exhibition In A Box’ is a miniature installation made up of multiple mixed-media projects, where Katy has been exploring the themes of movement, play, nostalgia and space. This exhibition transformed an empty cardboard box into a playful cross-dissolve between a playground and a dance floor environment. Play-rave scenarios has been built up through the repetitive use of Katy’s ‘cartoon-child’ character, The Girl who consistently reappears as a wall collage, animation and 3D exhibit.
Katy has been experimenting with sound, light and video art to create a nostalgic sense of chaotic space, inspired by life before the pandemic, which she calls ‘The New Nostalgia’.
