ABOUT KELLY
After watching the documentary ‘The Octopus Teacher’ I felt so emotionally moved; the relationship that the diver experienced with a common octopus was totally inspiring. The vulnerability of the diver and the bond they had was so beautiful. In the current pandemic and the necessity to have to complete our final degree year in and out of a virtual setting has made me appreciate the surroundings that were previously taken for granted. I wanted to combine and incorporate the reality of nature and the virtual world, likening it to our material practice and the glitchy live stream calls of our current times.
I am keen to find my way into textiles design industry. I am now ready for new challenges and experiences. During my degree I have gained many skills across all aspects of SPD techniques, from hand rendering patterns, screen printing, digital illustration and design.
