I knew from the start of this project that I wanted to create work around the ideas of what lockdown can do to mental and physical health. I wanted to show how the lack of communication and physical connection with people can alter our mental states, and how we have changed through these difficult situations. I wanted to portray the idea through a collection of images, to tell a story, that viewers will likely relate to. I decided to explore self-portraiture, to reflect on how I have begun to view myself through these everchanging times; to normalise these feelings, make them universal; to explore shared experience.
