FFION RICHARDSON

SURFACE PATTERN & TEXTILES

ABOUT FFION

Ffion has enjoyed experimenting with all aspects of Surface Pattern Design during her time at Swansea College of Art.  She is as a creative who likes to include a variety of materials in her collections.  Her abstract painterly style is key to her design signature, finding an unending variety of drawing techniques and loose ink marks to express ideas.

Her unique use of colour and strong design signature can be seen on an array of objects from hard surfaces such as ceramic to soft surfaces like textile cloth. Recently, she has hand-painted her first bespoke mural and has been commissioned to begin another one in a Pembrokeshire cafe over the summer.

Having stayed safe at home in such unprecedented times, she has enjoyed absorbing the natural landscape of the St Davids Peninsula and implementing these elements into her playful creations. Ffion has a spontaneity about her work and believes that it is important to reflect this trait by embedding it in her designs. Spontaneity keeps life playful as it brings unpredictable joys to everyday life.
