ABOUT MEGAN
For my Survival project, I have explored violence against women, in response to the recent death of Sarah Everard, and the nationwide protests it created. I was inspired by the work of writer and illustrator Florence Given who creates pieces in relation to victim blaming and rape culture. As a result, I have created a series of digital prints, using image and text.
This is a feminist art project which utilizes sign language and written text, to challenge the way actions can be representative of social control. I initially created these visual expressions from a place of anger myself yet developed ways to refine them, in an attempt to make my messages more powerful.
