ABOUT RUTH

At home the medicine cabinet acts like a personal pharmacy storing the medicines personal to the householders. In the twentieth century, the medicine cabinet was usually a storage where most women kept their thermometer to look after their children. Yet the development of the medicine cabinet has become more of a container not only to store medicine objects but also objects which are partly cosmetic (cabinetmagazine, 2016). The medicine cabinet tells a story.

For this piece of work, I have focused on the concept of medicine packets, exploring how they are made and designed.

I write, drew then made my object using fabric collage and embroidery.
